Upper Yarra Reservoir

Geotechnical Systems have been recently contracted by Melbourne Water to re-instrument some Vibrating Wire Piezometers in the Upper Yarra Reservoir. To accomplish this Geotechnical Systems sub-contracted Boart Longyears Sonic Drilling Services to drill four inclined and two vertical holes from crest to foundation. These completed holes were installed with strings of vibrating wire piezometers and then fully grouted using a specially designed and tested grout mix. Once wiring is trenched in and routed to the terminal enclosure a state of the art data logging system will be installed for remote data acquisition.
