4000 Rod Extensometer (MPBX)

Rod Extensometer BrochureBrochure Rod Extensometer Method StatementMethod Statement Rod Extensometer General ArrangementGeneral Arrangement

A simple to install unit with up to six anchor positions. The measurement rods are sleeved in polyethylene tubing and contained by nylon guide tubes. Coiled neatly in a 1m coil, they are simple to install and can be read using either a dial gauge (in the case of a manual head) or a digital indicator (when the remote reading head is used). Manual reading range 0 - 200mm with dial gauge. For remote reading applications, a low cost, accurate transducer head can be used. Range 0 - 150mm. Resolution 0.1mm. The transducer head can be read with a model 9600 extensometer readout.

4010 Single Point Rod Extensometer (SPX)

Ideal for roof applications where remote monitoring is required. Range 150mm. Resolution 0.1mm. Can be read with model 9600 extensometer readout (displays directly in mm).

4012 Rock Movement Indicator

Rock Movement Indicator BrochureBrochure

The Rock Movement Indicator is a single point extensometer built specifically for use with rock bolts in the monitoring of roof support systems. It uses the Model 9600 Handheld readout or a data logger to collect readings.

This system uses flexible stainless steel wire rope sheathed in polyethylene tubing with chrome-plated anchors. The assembly is grouted into a borehole and a head frame with transducers is fitted. For large displacements, a spring loaded head frame is recommended (consists of up to 15 spring loaded sensors with 1m range and 0.1mm resolution). The unit can be read from a remote site, data logged, or read at the collar using model 9600-2 10-channel extensometer readout.

Stainless Steel Spring Anchors

Deep Hole Extensometer BrochureBrochure Deep Hole Extensometer Method StatementMethod Statement Collar Mounted Headframe General ArrangementGA Std Collar Standoff Mounted Headframe General ArrangementGA Standoff

This system uses stainless steel high tensile wires connected to spring anchors mechanically placed in the borehole. At the collar, these wires are connected to the spring-loaded sensors in a 4015-style head frame. Ranges available are 1m and 3m.
Advantages are: large depth capacity (500m), high shear capacity, full borehole drainage and ventilation because the hole is not grouted. Ideal for monitoring long wall subsidence, caving heights and hanging wall performance. Up to 20 anchors can be placed in one hole. Read using model 9600-2 readout or logged using model 9640 extensometer logger.

4040 Resistance Wire Extensometer

RWE BrochureBrochure

For accurate monitoring of tensile strains in underground mining, fault zones and natural slopes. Range 100mm. Resolution 0.01mm. Available in 1 and 2m lengths. The units have full bridge completion to minimise temperature and lead length effects. Circuits are voltage regulated for use with long cable lengths. Read using model 9300, 6500 or 9150 readouts.

4050 Shear Monitor

Shown above.
Similar to model 4040 except encased in a mechanically and electrically insulated flexible housing. Monitors movement across faults and shears. Range 100mm. Resolution 0.1mm.

4100 Magnetic Borehole Anchor

A magnetic borehole anchor to be used in conjunction with a magnetostrictive "sonic" probe or model 9200-1 magnetic probe. Easily installed push fit units. Often used in underground coal mine applications for monitoring the change of distance between anchors.

4200 Displacement Detector System

Controller and Solar Panel

Sensor and Alarm

DDS BrochureBrochure

The displacement detector system consists of a tensioned stainless steel wire rope with or without a protective conduit. The detector is laid in a trench or attached to a post: the switch end is mounted on stable ground and the other end attached to the moving section of ground. The system triggers an alarm when a preset displacement is exceeded or the cable is broken. The model 4200 controller allows up to six sensors to be monitored continually.
