3000 Hydraulic Borehole Stress Cell

A soft inclusion type stress cell consisting of an inflatable flat jack with or without platens. The cell is placed in a 50mm diameter borehole, grouted if used without platens and then pressurised. Stress change is monitored with either a Bourdon tube gauge or any suitable diaphragm type transducer, or both.

A rigid inclusion cell suitable for monitoring uniaxial stress changes in hard and soft rock applications. The stainless steel proving ring is wedged inside the borehole using percussive, lever, screw or hydraulic setting tools. Ranges up to 70 MPa. A sensitive, low range model is available for coal applications.
